Invisalign Treatment

At Smiles Solutions Dental Center, we offer Invisalign—today’s most cutting-edge clear aligner. If you think it might be time to straighten your teeth, we assure you that never before have braces been more comfortable and convenient. And, since they are almost invisible, most people won’t even know you’re in the middle of orthodontic treatment.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an effective solution we provide at Smiles Solutions Dental Center for those who would prefer a virtually invisible teeth straightening treatment. Invisalign’s state-of-the-art advancements allow us to treat nearly all cases—from simple to complex—with the simplest and most inconspicuous method possible.

Advantages of Invisalign

Clear braces are not only effective and convenient when it comes to straightening teeth, but they are an excellent alternative to conventional metal braces for the following reasons:

  • Appearance—clear/no metal, virtually invisible
  • Comfort—removable when necessary
  • Safety—smooth with no wires
  • Treatment duration—as short as a year
  • Proven, predictable results—no surprises
  • Effective—treat crossbites, crowding, open bites, gapped teeth, overbites, and underbites.
  • Convenient—no dietary restrictions, fewer dentist appointments
  • Gum Health — improve periodontal health/gum during and after Invisalign treatment

What to Expect—The Process

First Consultation:

Dr. Yajima truly cares about the whole person and the overall health of her patients. She begins by doing a complete dental evaluation in which she considers not only the aesthetic ways in which Invisalign will improve your smile but also the effect Invisalign will have on your bite. From there, she customizes a treatment plan that aligns with your oral needs and goals.

Customized Treatment Plan:

Dr. Yajima uses impressions of your teeth to form a precise plan that establishes the movements of your teeth, the length of your treatment, and even a preview shot of what your teeth will look like upon completion.

Dr. Yajima takes scans with our 3-D computer imaging technology and sends them to Invisalign with supporting documentation, intra-oral photos, and radiographs. She works with an orthodontist at Invisalign® to create a customized treatment plan that includes attending to any issues there may be with your occlusion.

The Transformation:

The process may seem slow, but in a matter of months, your smile will transform through a sequence of expertly designed shifts. Halfway through your treatment, we scan to ensure everything is proceeding as planned. If your teeth are not tracking as they should be, we adjust treatment immediately with no extra charge. We are committed to going the extra mile to ensure excellent results in each of our patients.

Invisalign FAQs

How long do you wear Invisalign?

The length of the digital plan mapped out by Dr. Yajima depends on your specific goals and how much you wear your aligners. Each set of aligners will gently move your teeth into place and transform your smile.

Is Invisalign treatment painful?

Since Invisalign shifts your teeth, it’s quite common for patients to feel a small bit of pressure the first day or 2 of wearing a new set of aligners. Typically, the pain is minimal, and patients can adequately control the slightest discomfort with over-the-counter medications.

Can you eat with Invisalign in?

No! You take your aligners out when eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, and if necessary, for special occasions. But remember, for optimal results, you will need to wear your removable aligners 20-22 hours a day. The advantage to having to take your aligners out to eat is that it frees you up to eat whatever you want—no restrictions!

What foods can you not eat with Invisalign?

When it comes to conventional braces, there’s a long list of food you cannot eat. But the beauty of Invisalign® is that it straightens your teeth without restricting your diet. Your invisible aligners are removable, so you can take them out at any time and eat whatever foods you choose.

How often should you clean your clear aligners?

It is important to brush your teeth and your aligners after every meal. This will keep them from becoming stained. To brush your aligners, simply clean them with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and lukewarm water. Water that gets too hot can potentially warp the plastic.

How much does Invisalign cost?

Up until this point, you may be wondering if there are any similarities between clear braces and conventional braces. One! These days, the cost of Invisalign is very similar to the cost of metal braces. But just like your teeth, we know every financial situation is different, and we want to ensure you get the smile you deserve. We recommend you have a consultation with us where we can present all possible costs upfront and help you understand your insurance benefits.
